Video Poker Rules - Online Video Poker Rules

The goal of Video Poker is to get the highest ranked 5-card poker hand possible. To begin playing Video Poker, you must deposit money into the machine. To do this, you must select a bill type ($100, $50, $20, $10, $5) from the panel on the Video Poker screen. You can toggle through the different bill types by clicking on the panel. Once you have made your selection, deposit the bill into the Video Poker machine by clicking on the bill deposit area. You should see a bill move from your clip into the Video Poker machine. You may then select which coin denomination you wish to play - $.01, $.05, $.10, $0.25, $1, $2, or $5. To increase or decrease denominations, please click on the "right arrow" or "left arrow" buttons, respectively, at the top of the Video Poker machine.

Once you have selected a coin denomination and deposited to the Video Poker machine, the amount of coins you have available within the machine is shown in the CREDITS field at the bottom of the Video Poker machine. For example, if you deposit $20 when the coin denomination selector is set to $1, you will see 20 in the CREDITS field. If you then click the "left arrow" button of the coin denomination selector (which changes the coin value to $0.25), you will then see that the CREDITS field has been changed to 80 coins. The Bet field displays the amount of coins you have selected to bet on that hand. Please note that the Balance field will not change when you change the coin denomination since they show your balance in dollars (not coins).

Once you have deposited to the Video Poker machine, you may then click on the "Bet One" button up to the amount of coins you would like to play to a maximum of 5 coins. If you would like to play with the maximum amount of coins (5), you may alternatively choose to simply click the "Bet Max" button. When you are ready, click on the "Deal" button to distribute the cards. You will be given 5 cards. The machine uses a 52 card deck (53 for Joker Poker) which is played fresh after each hand. Then you hold onto the card(s) that you need in order to achieve the highest ranked poker hand possible. You may hold cards by simply clicking on them. When you do so, the held cards will be displayed with a tack on them. Once you have selected a given amount of cards to hold, click on the "Deal" button again. The cards that were not marked with a tack will be replaced. If, after this replacement, you have any combination of cards that qualifies for a payout, your credit will be increased by the amount of coins shown in the Paid field.

To change the type of Video Poker machine you are playing, click on "Games" in the menu bar and select the game you would like to play. When you change the game type, your credit and coin denominations will not change.

You can only change the Video Poker machines when your hand is finished, i.e. when the BET buttons are active.
